NCRI- Brig. Gen. Mohammad Ali Jaffari, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that the main mission of his organization is to counter internal threats, state-run media reported on Sunday.
Speaking at a ceremony introducing the new commander of Tehran’s paramilitary Bassij Force, Jaffari reiterated the philosophy of IRGC’s existence as the sole protector of the Iranian regime, adding that “in the past few years” there has been “negligence” with this regard, state-run news agency ISNA reported.
Twelve prisoners hanged in Bojnourd and Ahwaz NCRI - On Sunday, the mullahs' inhuman regime hanged nine prisoners, one of them in public, in the northeastern city of Bojnourd, according to the state-run news agency Fars.
The prosecutor general for the province of North Khorasan requested the death penalty for 80 prisoners, nine of which were carried out in Bojnourd yesterday.
NCRI – In the latest series of executions and public hangings in Iran twelve prisoners were hanged in northeastern city of Bojnourd southwestern city of Ahwaz, the state-run media reported.
Nine prisoners were hanged, one of them in public, in the northeastern city of Bojnourd, Kayhan newspaper reported, without giving the date that the executions were carried out.
NCRI - The European Union urged Iranian regime on Sunday not to execute a young man sentenced to death for crime committed when he was a minor.
"The Presidency of the EU is deeply concerned by the news of the imminent execution of Behnoud Shojaee," the current EU president, Slovenia, said in a statement.
NCRI- On Sunday, forty-nine men and women were arrested for violating the Islamic dress codes in the western city of Hamadan, reported the semiofficial daily Jomhouri-Islami.
The news was first posted on the State Security Forces (SSF) -- mullahs' suppressive police -- website in the western province of Hamadan.
NCRI – The members of Iraqi “Special Groups” are trained at several camps near Tehran that are overseen by the Qods Force of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, The New York Times reported today.
A US official told the newspaper that members of Lebanese group Hezbollah have been training Iraqis in these camps in Iran, according to information obtained by the US military during questioning of four Iraqis captured between last September and December after they had returned from training in Iran.
