U.S. seeks EU pressure on Iranian banks

BRUSSELS, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- The United States urged the European Union to pressure Iran about its nuclear program by stopping two Iranian banks from operating in Europe.

The plan to shutter the Saderat and Melli banks would build on a U.N. Security Council that U.S. and EU officials say they would push later in February, The Financial Times reported Tuesday.

Iraqi Kurdish figure condemns bomb attack on Asharf City's power station

NCRI – Dr. Mahmoud Othman, Kurdish member of the Iraqi National Assembly, strongly condemned bombing of the water pumping station of Ashraf City, home to the members of the People's Mojahedin Orgnization of Iran (PMOI/MEK)in Iraq.

Dr. Othman described the bomb attack that resulted in the water outage to Ashraf City and some 20,000 inhabitants in the surrounding area as an "anti-Islamic and inhumane action."

Iranian regime bomb attack on power station an inhumane act – Iraqi TV

NCRI – Iraqi Political parties and parliamentarians condemned the bombing of the water pumping station of the Ashraf City, home to the members of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), located in Diyala province,  Iraqi TV Channel al-Rafidain TV reported on Sunday.

"The crime is in clear violation of Iraq's sovereignty and security which has stemmed from the inaction in respect with the Iranian regime's meddling in Iraq," the report added.

Iranian regime forced to retreat from lies against PMOI

NCRI – In a statement yesterday, the Iranian regime withdrew its claim about the arrest of members of the main Iranian opposition, the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Iraq.

The state-run news agency IRNA reported on Sunday "Iran's consulate in Karbala said on Sunday that the two Iranians arrested in Iraq are ordinary pilgrims," and reiterated that they were not affiliated to the PMOI.

Iran regime to commemorate the death of Lebanese terrorist attempting to kill Salman Rushdie

NCRI - The mullahs' regime plans to hold a ceremony to commemorate the Lebanese terrorist Mostafa Mohammad Mazeh for attempting to assassinate the British author Salman Rushdie in August 3, 1989.

The Imam Sadeq University belonging to the Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) in Tehran is the main sponsor of the event which will be held next Monday.

Iran: mullahs cover their tracks in Lotfollahi's death

NCRI - The local office of the mullahs' Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) was caught red-handed in a new conspiracy leading to death of Ibrahim Lotfollahi, a sophomore student in Payam-e Noor University in Kurdistan.

The young man mysteriously died while in custody of the State Security Forces (SSF) in northern Kurdish city of Sanandaj on January 17. The SSF, acting on the order of the MOIS, buried the young man without informing his parents.

NCRI - Iraqi National Dialogue Front, headed by Dr. Saleh Matlaq, condemned bombing of Ashraf City water supply pumping station by the Qods Force terrorist agents of the Iranian regime in Iraq.

In its statement the Iraqi National Dialogue Front strongly condemned the bombing as a criminal action and part of a broader conspiracy against the Iranian political refugees residing in Ashraf City.

NCRI - In a statement issued on February 9, the Friends of a Free Iran Inter-Parliamentary group at the European Parliament strongly condemned the bombing of the water supply pumping station to Ashraf City, home to members of the Iranian opposition movement, People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Diyala province in Iraq.

"Bombing water supply stations and pipelines are considered as war crimes against protected persons and local residents, according to the Geneva Convention", The statement said.

So it should not come as a surprise that Tehran’s apologists are working double hard these days to hide the ayatollahs’ bloody hands and deny the existence of appalling human right crisis in Iran. They blame everyone and everything but the regime - from the “radical demands” of people and “radical political organizations” to Washington’s statements supporting democracy - for the barbaric rights violations going on in Iran.

NCRI - Supporters of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) held a protest during the 44th Conference on Security Policy in Munich, southern Germany on Saturday Feb. 9, 2008.

Demonstrators called for tough and comprehensive sanctions against the fundamentalist regime ruling Iran and stressed that time to end the policy of appeasement has come and any conciliation with the regime would be considered as a sign of weakness on behalf of the world community.
