NCRI - On Wednesday, August 20, hundreds of Iranians residing in Switzerland held a rally outside the headquarters of the United Nations Office in Geneva and warned about the plots and pressures of the clerical regime against Ashraf City (home to members of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK)). They urged the Multi-National Force-Iraq (MNF-I) and the US to counter these plots and to continue protecting the residents of Ashraf City. |

NCRI – Two movie stars and a director, Ezatollah Entezami, Parviz Parastooi and Kiumars Pour-Ahmadi were summoned to Tehran's prosecutor office for trying to save the life of a juvenile prisoner, the state-run daily Kargozaran reported on Wednesday. Earlier, they tried to launch a campaign to raise "blood money" to save the life of a young man on death row for a crime allegedly committed when he was 17. |

NCRI – The mullahs' inhuman regime hanged a 20-year-old man named Reza Hejazi after spreading the news that his execution had been stayed in the central city of Isfahan. Hejazi was 15 at the time of alleged crime.
He was transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for his execution on August 18. However, when his family and attorney went to the prison on Wednesday, they were told that his execution has been stayed. "Jubilant of the news, his family and I left the prison. But only a few hours latter I learned through the official site of Isfahan prosecutor's office that he was hanged," said his attorney Mohammad Mostafaii in total surprise. |

NCRI- The mullahs' judiciary gave the go ahead for the death sentences of two prisoners who were under 18 at the time of the alleged crimes, the state-run daily Kargozaran reported on Tuesday.
The two are identified as Amir, who was 16 at the time in November of 2005 and Amir Karim who was 17 at the time. |

NCRI – Gas shortage is one problem for Iranian people but finding a place to pump what ever there is even a bigger problem.
Since 30 years ago there has hardly been any new gas stations built in Tehran. Then, the capital's population was only three million. The figure is 15 million now and it keeps on rising. The gas stations – according to international standards for a city like Tehran – are only 11 percent of what they should be, said Mohammadreza Nematzadeh, the chief executive officer of the Iranian National Oil Refineries. |
