Iran: “Public Security” plan will continue into the next year

NCRI - Brig. Gen. Ahmad Roozbehani, head of the "moral police" in the mullahs' regime announced that his men would strictly enforce the controversial "boosting the public security" plan well into the next Iranian year (Persian calendar beginning March 21), the state-run news agency Fars reported on Wednesday.  
 
The measure triggered unprecedented protests by Iranian citizens across country since its initial introduction last April.

Iran: Two sisters were severely beaten for not wearing socks

NCRI - The State Security Forces (SSF) arrested a woman for not wearing socks.  When her sister attempted to get her detained sister released by taking a pair of socks to the SSF local station where the woman was held, both women were beaten up by male agents and imprisoned until next morning.

The two were referred to a judge for arraignment the next day.  Compliance with the so-called Islamic dress codes by Iranian women is a must and the violators will be punished accordingly.

Iran opposition group accuses EU of 'appeasement'

EUobserver - A leading Iranian exiled opposition group claimed on Wednesday (20 February) it has evidence that the Iranian government is still engaged in the development of nuclear weapons.

"The Iranian regime is undoubtedly developing the nuclear bomb," said Mohammad Mohaddessin, the chairperson of the foreign affairs committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) at a Brussels press conference.

Iran still developing nuclear warheads: exiled opposition group

BRUSSELS, Feb 20, 2008 (AFP) - Iran is actively pursuing a nuclear weapons programme, an exiled Iranian opposition group said Wednesday, giving details of what it claims is an operational nuclear-warhead development site.

The claims run counter to a US intelligence report released in December which said Iran halted its nuclear weapons programme in 2003.

Iran: Ten Sunni missionaries imprisoned by the mullahs' regime

NCRI - Ten Sunni missionaries were arrested and imprisoned in the notorious Gohardasht prison (Rajaishahr), according to the Resistance sources in Iran. Prior to their eventual imprisonment, the 10 Sunni missionaries had been detained by the State Security Forces (SSF) and held for more than 40 days in an undisclosed location.
They are as follows: Rasoul Mavet, Souran Fasehi, Mohammad Khaki, Simand Hosseini, Masoud Javadi, Kaveh Seyedzadeh, Edris Mondaris, Azad Qaderzadeh, Kayvan Khodadadi and Khalid Marofi.

Iran speeding up nuclear bomb programme, exiled group claims

Brussels (DPA) - Iran has "speeded up" rather than halted its nuclear bomb programme and has already set up a command and control centre near Tehran, an exiled Iranian opposition group claimed Wednesday. The unverified allegation contradicts a December report by the US intelligence claiming that the Iranian regime had stopped its nuclear weapons development programme in 2003.

Iran: Ten prisoners hanged in Tehran and Zanjan

Since the start of the year, the mullahs' regime hanged more than 50 prisoners
NCRI - The mullahs' regime hanged six prisoners not naming them in the northern city of Zanjan, the state television reported on Wednesday.
 
Separately, four prisoners identified as Peyman, Saber, Mohammad and Aliakbar were hanged in the notorious Evin prison, the state-run news agency Fars reported today.

Iranian dissidents urge immediate nuclear checks

BRUSSELS, Feb 20 (Reuters) - An Iranian opposition group called on Wednesday for the U.N. nuclear watchdog to immediately inspect facilities in Iran which it said were at the core of an accelerated nuclear weapons programme.

The National Council of Resistance of Iran dismissed a December U.S. National Intelligence Estimate that Tehran stopped trying to make a nuclear warhead in 2003, shortly after the group first revealed the country's nuclear enrichment activity.

Iran is developing nuclear warheads, NCRI reveals

NCRI - The National Council of Resistance of Iran, the "opposition group that first exposed Iran's controversial nuclear-fuel program has given the United Nations' nuclear watchdog details of what the group says is a working nuclear-warhead-development facility," the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday.

"The facility at Khojir, a defense-ministry missile-research site on the southeast edge of Tehran, is developing a nuclear warhead for use on Iranian medium-range missiles, according to Mohammad Mohaddessin, foreign-affairs chief for the exiled National Council of Resistance of Iran",  the report added.

Iranian opposition group claims Tehran accelerated alleged nuclear weapons program

BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) - An exiled Iranian opposition group on Wednesday claimed that Tehran has accelerated its alleged nuclear weapons program, including the production of nuclear warheads.

"The Iran regime entered a new phase in its nuclear project," said Mohammad Mohaddessin, a representative of the Paris-based National Council of Resistance of Iran.

Iran: More crackdowns on satellite TV

NCRI - A senior official with the mullahs' regime "Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance", "emphasized the need for confronting" the "Farsi-language satellite channels," the state-run news agency IRNA reported on Tuesday.

Ali-Reza Karimi, Director General for Publicity Affairs of the ministry made the remarks in a seminar attended by Iranian regime's officials "in charge of publicity nationwide," in the southern city of Shiraz, the report added.

Iran: Resistance reveals mullahs' secrets on developing nuclear warheads

NCRI – The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) in a press conference in Brussels disclosed information on Iranian regime's Command and Control Center for production of atom bomb and its nuclear warhead project, on Wednesday.

NCRI revealed details of the project including location of the nuclear weapons program command headquarters.  The location of the sites where the project is developed and names of officials and experts who are participating in the Iran regime's nuclear weapons program were presented in the conference.
