Iran-Iraq: End mullahs' meddling in Iraq, support PMOI - Opponents

ImageNCRI – Iranians and supporters of the Iranian Resistance in Dallas staged a rally on Saturday to protest against mullahs’ meddling in Iraq and its ploys against People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran based in Camp Ashraf, north of Baghdad.

They condemned clerical regime’s plans to influence elections in Iraq as part of its attempt to establish another Islamic fundamentalist regime in that country. They described PMOI as the obstacle to the spread of fundamentalism into Iraq and the region and therefore called for its immediate removal from the terror list and all restrictions to its activities against the religious dictatorship in Iran.

Hamas Politburo chief Khaled MishaalUnited Press International, TEHRAN - Iran's spiritual guide, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, called on Hamas not to negotiate with Israel and to stick to their armed resistance to achieve liberation.

Speaking at a meeting with visiting Hamas Politburo chief Khaled Mishaal, the Iranian News Agency, IRNA, December 13, quoted Khamenei as saying, "the experience of the last 50 years shows that making concessions to the Zionist occupants and entering negotiations with them did not make things better.

EU says Iran must show greater respect for human rights

ImageDow Jones Newswires, BRUSSELS - European Union foreign ministers called on Iran Monday to show greater respect for human rights, saying the situation in Iran was deteriorating and damaging E.U.-Iran ties. The E.U. ministers said they regretted that Iran has failed to hold talks on human rights this year, "despite the E.U.'s strong and repeated requests."

Iran-UK: Take People's Mojahedin off terror list - British parliamentarians

British ParliamentPress Association, LONDON - A group of parliamentarians today called on the Government to lift its ban on an Iranian opposition group.

The People's Mojahedin of Iran was proscribed by former Home Secretary David
Blunkett under anti-terrorism legislation in 2001 because of allegations that it had links to terror.

Some 279 MPs and 126 peers of all parties signed a statement released today, calling for the removal of the PMOI's terror tag, which they said was "the most important impediment" to democratic change in Iran.

Iran-Iraq: Ex-general says Iranian led torture of detainees

ImageThe Washington Times, BAGHDAD - An Iraqi general formerly in charge of special Interior Ministry forces said yesterday that a senior Iranian intelligence officer was in charge of a network of detention centers where suspected insurgents were routinely tortured and sometimes killed.

Gen. Muntazar Jasim al-Samarrai spoke to The Washington Times just as Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari said he had widened an urgent investigation into complaints of abuse and torture in the country's detention facilities.

Iran-UK: Remove PMOI from Terror list - British Parliamentarians

Almost half the Members of Parliament have called on the UK Government and EU to adopt a firm policy towards Tehran’s mullahs and remove the unjust terror tag against the People's Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI)

In a press conference today in Westminster, British Parliamentarians from three major political parties announced a new initiative towards Iran. Some 279 MPs and 126 Peers have signed the “Statement on Iran” calling for the “removal of the terror label against the PMOI”, describing it as “the most important impediment” to democratic change in Iran. Citing legal opinions by several of the most pre-eminent jurists which emphasised that the terror label against the PMOI had no legal basis from the very beginning, but was politically motivated.
