Students demonstrate on Polytechnic University campusNCRI – On Sunday, students gathered outside administration office of Tehran's Polytechnic (Amirkabir) University protesting to reckless handling of a fellow classmate's falling from a three story building.

Said Arablou, an electrical engineering student fell from third floor of a school building and nearly lost both his legs.

Hundreds of Shiraz University students protestNCRI – More than 400 students in a symbolic move cover the university grounds with the food trays in protest to spoiled food served by at the school's cafeteria which sent 233 students to hospital. 

Angry students covered all 500 meters sidewalk between Mofateh Dormitory and their cafeteria with food trays.

Stoning of a man an woman in Iran in the 1980sNCRI – The mullahs' Supreme Court upheld a stoning sentence on Thursday for a young woman identified as Afsaneh R. A lower court first ruled in her case in the southern city of Shiraz.

An appeal on her behalf was turned down by the Supreme Court on August 4 -- the same day Alireza Jamshidi, mullahs' judiciary spokesman, announced that stoning as a sentence was abolished altogether from the Iranian criminal laws.

Iran: A man hanged in Borujerd

Hanging nooseNCRI – The mullahs' regime hanged a prisoner identified as Mohammad B. in the western city of Borujerd, the official daily Kayhan reported on Thursday.

In the past two weeks, 19 prisoners have been executed on the order of mullahs' chief of judiciary, Mahmoud Hashemi Shahroudi.
