Nuclear site in IranAgence France Presse - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Tuesday that Iran would not "step back" on its decision to resume nuclear fuel work, state television reported.

"Our country will go forward on the nuclear path with patience, wisdom and planning," the hardline president was quoted as saying after a parliament session on the state budget.

IAEANCRI - The International Atomic Energy Agency called on Iranian regime on Tuesday to "maintain its suspension of all enrichment-related activity" after receiving a letter from Tehran announcing the resumption of nuclear fuel research.

IAEA said it had been informed in a "note verbale" from the Iranian mission in Vienna of Tehran's decision to resume from January 9 research and development "on the peaceful nuclear energy programme which has been suspended."

NCRI - Iran regime said on Tuesday again that a proposed joint venture to enrich uranium in Russia was only acceptable if it was in addition to enrichment facilities in Iran.

Mullahs' foreign ministry spokesman said: "The Russian proposal is ambiguous. Iran will not accept any proposal that calls only for mere enrichment inside Russia but will consider one that offers a complementary and workable plan."

Nuclear activities in Isfahan plantNCRI - Iranian regime rejected any plans denying its will to enrich uranium in the country. "As we said before we want to have enrichment inside Iran. Any proposal which is based on this principle will be studied," Spokesman to Ahmadinejad's government, Gholam Hossein Elham, said on Monday. This is considered a clear rejection of the Russian proposal to enrich uranium for the regime on Russian soil.

"We are studying the Russian proposal based on this framework, the government will never give up its principles," the spokesman declared.

Iran regime presses again for uranium enrichment at homeNCRI - Iranian regime's agreement to discuss Moscow's plan to enrich uranium in Russia does not mean that Tehran has abandoned its drive to enrich uranium on its own soil, said Javad Vaeedi, deputy of the mullahs' Supreme National Security Council on Friday.

Russian proposal which is backed by Washington and the European Union, involves the creation of a joint Iranian-Russian company to enrich uranium in Russia.

The plan has been put forward by Moscow to try to allay international concerns that Iranian regime could manufacture highly enriched uranium on its own soil to build atomic weapons.
