Official Says 12 Prisoners Subjected to 'Severe Torture'
Washington Post, BAGHDAD, December 12 - An Iraqi government search of a
detention center in Baghdad operated by Interior Ministry special
commandos found 13 prisoners who had suffered abuse serious enough to
require medical treatment, U.S. and Iraqi officials said Sunday night.
An Iraqi official with firsthand knowledge of the search said that at
least 12 of the 13 prisoners had been subjected to "severe torture,"
including sessions of electric shock and episodes that left them with
broken bones.

NCRI - Saudis fumed Friday that mullahs' president Ahmadinejad marred a summit dedicated to showing Islam's moderate face by calling for Israel to be moved to Europe,
Even some of Ahmadinejad's allies in Iran were growing disillusioned, fearing he has hurt the country with his wild rhetoric. Rival factions within the regime also called on the ruling clerics to reel him in.

NCRI - The UN Security Council on Friday joined the growing international furor over revolting remarks by clerical regime's president Ahmadinejad, questioning the Holocaust and suggesting that the "tumour" of the state of Israel be relocated to Europe.
A statement released by Britain's UN envoy Emyr Jones Parry, the current council president, said the body's 15 members "condemn the remarks about Israel and the denial of the Holocaust attributed to Dr Mahmoud Ahmadinejad."

NCRI - In a statement issued in Tehran on behalf of the European Union, the British embassy denounced the Ahmadinejad's comments on Israel today as "wholly unacceptable".
Addressing the reporters in a press conference in Mecca today, mullahs' president suggested that Israel should be moved to Europe.

His comments in a news conference in the Saudi Arabian city of Mecca,
follow his call in October for Israel to be "wiped off the map," which
sparked widespread international condemnation.

NCRI – Iranian regime’s meddling in Iraq became more evident following
the discovery of a torture center in that country in November.
An Iraqi official investigation into the torture of more than 170 Iraqi
detainees in a center belonged to the Interior Ministry in Baghdad
found that forces guarding the center had close ties with the clerical
regime in Iran.

Reporting the event, the Kuwaiti news agency, KUNA, quoted Abdulrahman Al-Attiyah, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) as saying to the conferees that the issue of Iran and the Gulf was a current priority because it was directly linked to regional security.
