Iran regime continues to send weapons, money to groups in Iraq PDF Print E-mail

NCRI – A new U.S. military report says Iranian regime is continuing to funnel weapons and money to Shiite militants across Iraq, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.

The U.S. military report that reserved the harshest words for Iran described its regime meddling as the "greatest long-term threat to Iraqi security."

Iran regime behind Tuesday's deadly blast in Baghdad PDF Print E-mail

NCRI - A Spokesman for the US forces in Iraq said that the "special groups" supported by Tehran's regime are behind the Tuesday's deadly blast in Baghdad which left some 60 dead, according to the German press agency, dpa.

Many victims were trapped in their apartments by a raging fire that engulfed at least one building, according to police and Interior Ministry officials, who also said about 75 people, were wounded. Stunned survivors stumbled through the rubble-strewn street, which was filled with the smoke from burning vehicles, witnesses said.

Iran spends $2.5B on activities in Iraq, exiles say PDF Print E-mail

June 10 (Bloomberg) -- Iran spends $2.5 billion a year on its "activities'' in Iraq and provides militias there with 80 percent of the arms used against U.S.-led forces, the exiled opposition National Council for Resistance in Iran said.

"The mullahs have no intention of seeing a safe and secure Iraq,'' Hossein Abedini, a member of the group's foreign affairs committee, told a press conference in London today. "They are stepping up attacks to push coalition forces out so they can set up a satellite state."

Secret details of the production of a new type of explosively formed penetrator, or EFP in military jargon, is being produced by Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps – Qods Force (IRGC-QF), according to sources in the Iranian resistance.

The information was revealed at a Parliamentary press conference held in London Tuesday by the National Council of Resistance of Iran, a group opposed to the rule of the mullahs. The NCRI revealed precise details of 51 weapons smuggling networks operating between Iran and Iraq. The group outlined the methods used to smuggle the EFPs and exposed the Iranian-backed terrorist militias operating in Iraq. The information presented to the media was backed up by satellite images obtained by the NCRI depicting a number of what was described as "secret sites."

Iran has a secret $2.5 billion (£1.2 billion) budget for supporting terrorist groups that target British troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, it has been claimed.
The funds were allocated by the Islamic Republic's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khameni to the Revolutionary Guard Quds Force, the opposition group National Council for Resistance of Iran said.

"The Iran government is spending $2.5 billion in this financial year through the Qods Force in Iraq," said Hossein Abedini, a NCRI representative in London. "It could even be more because the commanders do not really face budgetary constraints in this regard."

Iraqi "Special Groups" are trained in camps in Iran, says US official PDF Print E-mail

NCRI – The members of Iraqi “Special Groups” are trained at several camps near Tehran that are overseen by the Qods Force of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, The New York Times reported today.

A US official told the newspaper that members of Lebanese group Hezbollah have been training Iraqis in these camps in Iran, according to information obtained by the US military during questioning of four Iraqis captured between last September and December after they had returned from training in Iran.

Iran regime ambassador should be expelled from Lebanon, says Jumblatt PDF Print E-mail

ImageNCRI – Walid Jumblatt, a leading member of Lebanon’s ruling coalition, at a news conference on Saturday in Beirut called for expulsion of Iranian regime’s ambassador and a ban on flights from Iran to Lebanon.

"Iranian flights to Beirut should be stopped because Iranian planes might be bringing in money and military equipment," said Jumblatt, Progressive Socialist Party leader. "The Iranian ambassador should be expelled from Lebanon."
