PARIS (AFP) More than 70,000 supporters of Iran's opposition protested near Paris on Saturday, urging the international community to remove bans on the country's armed opposition group, organisers said.

The protest came just days after Britain's decision to lift its ban on the People's Mojehedin Organisation of Iran (PMOI)[MEK], a move Iran denounced as a "disgrace".

PARIS: Thousands of supporters of an Iranian opposition group called on the European Union and the United States to remove the organization from terror blacklists at a large weekend rally outside Paris.

The National Council of Resistance of Iran - an umbrella group based in Paris that includes the blacklisted People's Mujahedeen, or PMOI [MEK] - held the rally at an exhibition center in the northern suburb of Villepinte just days after Britain removed the group from its list of banned terrorist organizations.

PARIS (AP) — Thousands of supporters of an Iranian opposition group called on the European Union and the United States to remove the organization from terror blacklists at a massive rally Saturday outside Paris.

The Paris-based National Council Resistance of Iran [NCRI] — an umbrella group that includes the blacklisted People's Mujahedeen of Iran, or PMOI [MEK] — held the rally at an exhibition center in the northern Villepinte suburb just days after Britain removed PMOI [MEK]from its list of banned terror groups.
