NCRI - The mullahs' runoff Majlis (parliament) election charade yesterday was ignored by people across Iran far greater than the first round according to reports by the resistance's sources from polling stations in Tehran and various cities and towns.

There were only a handful of people who turned out to vote in many polling stations in Tehran including the ones in Aryashahr, Kashani Boulevard, Nezam Mafi Mosque, Islamshahr, Azadi Street in Hashemi district, Nabi Mosque in Narmak district, Saheb Zaman Mosque and Jame'e Mosque.

Five prisoners hanged in Tehran’s Evin prison on Wednesday
NCRI - On Wednesday five prisoners, Hami, 29; Esfandiyar, 35; Mohammad, 40; Mohammad, 32 and Ahmad, 38, were hanged in Tehran’s notorious Evin prison, the state-run news agency Fars reported.

Mullahs’ medieval regime has hanged 15 prisoners in less than 10 days in various cities across the nation. An increase in the number of arbitrary executions in Iran reflects the extent of brutality by the regime on one hand and the regime’s fear of spreading popular protests especially by workers, students, women and the youth on the other. 

NCRI - On Sunday, Special Units of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) attacked a peaceful gathering in Rabat Township in the suburb of the northwestern city of Sardasht, killing one and wounding five others.

Upon the arrival of IRGC agents on the scene of the gathering, they opened fire on defenseless people killing a 21-year-old man identified as Hossein Poyaii-Far.

NCRI - In a major demonstration in Tehran on Tuesday, more than 1,000 students chanted, "Death to dictator," "Ahmadinejad is like [Augusto] Pinochet, but Iran would never be another Chile" and "Free the jailed students," on the Polytechnic (Ami Kabir) University. 

Their protest came after the mullahs' judiciary announced last week that the three detained students from the school have each been sentenced to around two years in jail on charges of insulting the authorities. The protesters demanded the release of the jailed students.

NCRI - The mullahs' inhuman regime hanged four prisoners -- not naming them -- in the prison yard in the central city of Kerman, reported the official news agency IRNA on Monday.

Hanging of 10 prisoners in a week is a sign of a sudden increase in the number of executions after a lull. The ruling clerical regime in its faltering state turns to more suppressive measures against the Iranian people.

NCRI - Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, lauded the citizens for standing up and demonstrating against the mullahs' suppressive forces in the western city of Poldokhtar and southern city of Dashtistan. She called on youths in other cities in particular those living in the western province of Lorestan and southern province of Bushehr to support their compatriots.
