Iran: Martial law in Iran's western city of Ivan-Gharb PDF Print E-mail

National Council of Resistance of IranIn protest against killing of a number of people in an earlier violent anti-government demonstration in Iran's western city of Ivan-Gharb in Ilam province, local businesses and bazaar shut down yesterday and local residents stayed home. 

Following the bloody crackdown on a demonstration in Ivan-Gharb where a large number of people were killed and wounded, the special units of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) imposed a martial law in the city and arrested a number of protesters.

Suppression of Women in IranNCRI - Brig. Gen. Ismail Ahmadi-Moqaddam, chief of the State Security Forces (SSF) --mullahs' suppressive police-- elaborated on the so-called plan to "Boost Public Security" which was launched last spring and said, ''In implementing the plan, the SSF will examine more carefully the activities of private companies to make sure that no improper conducts exist there. If it comes across any unethical misconduct, harsher measures will be adopted."

Sahand University StudentsNCRI- Students have gone on hunger strike and demonstration for the past five days at Sahand Technical University in the northern city of Tabriz.

They are protesting to hand picked school administrators by the government for the school.

Iran: Five hundred students in Tabriz end their second day of sit-in PDF Print E-mail

Sahand Universty sit-inNCRI - Students at Sahand University in Tabriz, provincial capital of Eastern Azerbaijan, northwest Iran, ended their second day of sit-in yesterday.

In a bid to end the students' protest, the regime has resorted to its usual methods of threats and intimidations. The university officials have been making threatening calls to the families of female students who play an active role in the sit-in to put pressure on their children for ending their protest. Students have been staying in the main university buildings over night.

Iran PrisonNCRI - The Iranian regime is building a series of new prisons under the pretext of “temporary detention centers” in Tehran, the state-run news agency Mehr reported on Monday.

“Presently, only one special detention center has been built to hold prisoners temporality on Resalat Highway in northeast Tehran for the province… There will be two more completed before the end of the year. However, based on the estimates, there should be four other buildings of the same nature built in Tehran Province,” said Sohrab Soleimani the director of the regime's prisons.

Sample ImageNCRI - The mullahs' runoff Majlis (parliament) election charade yesterday was ignored by people across Iran far greater than the first round according to reports by the resistance's sources from polling stations in Tehran and various cities and towns.

There were only a handful of people who turned out to vote in many polling stations in Tehran including the ones in Aryashahr, Kashani Boulevard, Nezam Mafi Mosque, Islamshahr, Azadi Street in Hashemi district, Nabi Mosque in Narmak district, Saheb Zaman Mosque and Jame'e Mosque.

Iran: 15 prisoners hanged in less than ten days in Iran

Five prisoners hanged in Tehran’s Evin prison on Wednesday
NCRI - On Wednesday five prisoners, Hami, 29; Esfandiyar, 35; Mohammad, 40; Mohammad, 32 and Ahmad, 38, were hanged in Tehran’s notorious Evin prison, the state-run news agency Fars reported.

Mullahs’ medieval regime has hanged 15 prisoners in less than 10 days in various cities across the nation. An increase in the number of arbitrary executions in Iran reflects the extent of brutality by the regime on one hand and the regime’s fear of spreading popular protests especially by workers, students, women and the youth on the other.

Iran: Savage attack by IRGC on people in Sardasht PDF Print E-mail

National Council of Resistance of IranNCRI - On Sunday, Special Units of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) attacked a peaceful gathering in Rabat Township in the suburb of the northwestern city of Sardasht, killing one and wounding five others.

Upon the arrival of IRGC agents on the scene of the gathering, they opened fire on defenseless people killing a 21-year-old man identified as Hossein Poyaii-Far.
