Iranians respond to call by political prisonersNCRI - In response to a call by political prisoner in Iran, a large group of families and supporters of the People's Mojahedin and political prisoners gathered at Tehran's "Mellat" or Nation's Park Sunday morning.

The gathering marked the 13th day of the Iranian New Year which is traditionally celebrated by Iranians as a sign of rejection of evil in the year which has just started.

Rejecting the evil of the religious dictatorship, Tehran residents called for freedom of all political in their gathering in Mellat Park and condemned execution of political prisoners related to the People's Mojahedin.

According to reports by people on the scene the state security forces as well as intelligence agents surrounded the park to prevent the protest gathering spreading to other areas.
