NCRI - The Danish member of the European Parliament, Mogens Camre, denounced recent remarks by the Iranian regime's foreign ministry spokesman, who objected to the decision by the Paris Appeals Court calling it "unacceptable."

The Appeals Court ruling called for removal of restrictions against members of the Iranian Resistance and Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the NCRI, which was imposed following a brutal police raid on NCRI's offices in north Paris in June 2003.

"The reaction of Mr. Hamid-Reza Asefi on behalf of the regime in Tehran clearly shows the anti-democratic character of the Iranian regime. The French courts are independent bodies in a democracy. On the basis of a very detailed investigation the French Court of Appeal has found the charges against the Mujahedeen-e-Khalk and Mrs. Maryam Rajavi totally unfounded. However, the dictators in Iran believe that democratic France could act like they do, setting all normal justice out of force."

Mr. Camre added: "The regime in Tehran endangers peace in the Middle East. The existence of that regime is contrary to every single idea of the modern world. The sooner it is overthrown the better."
