Tens of thousands of workers stage protest against anti-labor policies of mullahs' regime |

 Tens of thousands of workers staged strikes across Iran on Saturday to
protest the clerical regime’s suppressive and anti-labor laws as well
as the lack of the minimum means of subsistence.
At the time of spiraling inflation and skyrocketing prices, lack of
wage increases, non-payment of wages, insurance deductions, absence of
assistance, such as coupons, and no promotions have left millions of
workers extremely vulnerable in the face of inflation and high prices.
Saturday’s strike involved 4,000 workers in factories and production
units in South Khorassan Province (northeast), 17,000 workers in Ilam
(west), 1,000 workers at Pars Electric in Tehran, 20,000 workers in
Pakdasht and Varamin (central Iran), 10,000 workers in Golestan
Province (north), and thousands of workers in production, industrial
and service units in Bushehr and Shushtar (southern Iran) and in Yazd
(central Iran).
Employees of Tehran and Qom public transportation system joined the
workers in the protest. The widespread dimension of the strikes forced
a number of government-controlled news outlets to report them.
Mr. Abbas Davari, Chairman of the Labor Committee of the National
Council of Resistance of Iran, hailed the striking workers and drew the
attention of organizations defending workers rights, including the
International Labor Organization, the International Confederation of
Trade Unions and the World Confederation of Labor, to the regime’s
anti-labor laws and the abysmal plight of Iranian workers.
