Iran-Britain : Legal challenge against the Government PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 08 February 2007

The Daily Telegraph -  A group of 35 MPs and peers announced a legal challenge against the Government yesterday over its decision not to lift a ban on the main Iranian opposition group, the People's Mojahedin Organisation of Iran.

The former Solicitor General for Scotland, Lord Fraser of Carmyllie, QC, said: "We should be supporting those who are so strong in their resistance against the mullahs."

Campaigners will tell an appeals commission that the PMOI is an entirely peaceful group working for a secular democratic Iran and should not be proscribed.
