Sweden - Press conference on violation of human rights in Iran |

NCRI (Stockholm) - On Wednesday the Representative office of the
National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) in Nordic countries held
a press conference on the deterioration of human rights condition in
Iran.
Mr. Parviz Khazai, NCRI's Representative in Nordic countries, deputy
chair of Swedish Red Cross, a human rights activist and a prominent
jurist, Mr. Per Stadig, Mr. Osborn Holmstrand, A veteran member of
Amnesty International, and Mrs. Mehri Omrani, a former political
prisoner called on the international organizations to condemn the
violations of human rights in Iran, in particular, the recent wave of
executions.
NCRI's representative in Nordic countries said that the recent wave of
executions by the Iranian regime is a desperate attempt to combat the
increasing popular rage against it.
"President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi had
appealed to the international conscience to condemn the new wave of
public executions which has gained unprecedented magnitude in recent
weeks in Iran", he added.
Mr. Per Stadig explained the International law regarding torture and
called on international human rights organization to adopt measures to
stop execution in Iran.
Mr. Osborn Holmstrand presented the recent figures on execution in Iran
as compiled by the Amnesty International (AI). He presented photos of
execution of children in Iran. He presented reports on AI's activities
to stop executions in Iran.
Ms. Mehri Omrani, a supporter of People's Mojahedin Organization (PMOI)
and a former political prisoner spoke of the torture methods she had
witnessed during her eight years prison term.
In the press conference, a video tape of recent public hanging was shown.
