NCRI - On September 25, in a seminar in Bournemouth, United Kingdom, Lord Tony Clark, the member of the House of Lords and former Leader of the British Labor Party demanded the removal of ban on People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) and called on government of Prime Minister Gordon Brown to end the appeasement policy vis-à-vis the religious dictatorship in Iran.
Simultaneous with the Labor Party's annual meeting, the representative office of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) in Britain sponsored a seminar in Bournemouth. Tony Clark spoke in this seminar, where leaders of various organizations from the Labor party, human rights and women’s rights advocates attended.
Lord Clark stated that he knew NCRI and PMOI for more than two decades.
And he thanked them for revealing the human rights violations and
crimes taking place in Iran.
He pointed out the crimes of the mullahs against the Iranian people and
said: "Our country’s policy of appeasement and the West as a whole has
helped Iranian regime to continue its nuclear projects. The Iranian
Resistance and NCRI have revealed the clandestine nuclear program of
the regime. Labeling of the PMOI is part of the same policy. We have
been asking the officials to give us some rationale, but they could not
even give one good reason for such labeling.
Lord Clark continued that he demands from Gordon Brown and his
government to put an end to the policy of appeasement toward the
Iranian regime. These days we witness the protests against the human
rights violations in Myanmar and Darfur. But when it comes to the
atrocities of the mullahs ruling Iran, everyone stays silent. The
Iranian regime is seeking the destruction of other countries and is
seriously trying to obtain nuclear weapons and suppresses its own
citizens.
Tony Clark said that the President-elect of NCRI, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi is
a courageous woman I ask all of you who have attended this conference
to support the Iranian Resistance and act on removing the terrorist
label from PMOI.
Nasser Razi from the office of the NCRI in London described the crimes
of the mullahs' regime against Iranian people and added that we believe
the solution to the Iranian problem is neither appeasement nor a
foreign war. It is support for the Iranian people and their Resistance
for a democratic change in Iran. The first step to correct the
appeasement policy is to immediately remove the terrorist label from
PMOI as ruled by the EU Court of Justice in last December.
