NCRI - In a number of European capitals, Iranian exiles staged protests
against executions and expressed solidarity with the student protests.
The
rallies were organized by supporters of the main Iranian opposition,
People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) to mark the World Day
Against the Death Penalty.
In Stockholm, families of victims of political executions in a joint
statement condemned the mullahs' regime for the implementation of cruel
punishments.
In light of brutal suppression in Iran and the mullahs' export of
terrorism and fundamentalism they called for imposition of measure to
restrict the activities of the regime abroad, comprehensive UN
sanctions and shutting down of its embassy in Sweden.
In Copenhagen, Iranians gathered outside the Danish Parliament. They
expressed their solidarity with Iranian students currently protesting
against the tyrannical rule in Iran. A statement by the participants
was submitted to the Danish Parliament calling on lawmakers to act in
support of restoration of human rights in Iran.
Iranians In Arhus, northern Denmark, called for international support for the student protests in Iran.
The Hague, was another city where Iranian expatriates held a
demonstration in protest against crackdown on Iranian students. Dutch
human rights activists spoke at the event and expressed their support
for the Iranian Resistance.
Participants in the rallies pledged their support for the third option
as the only viable solution for a democratic change in Iran initiated
by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the Iranian Resistance.
In 2004 at the European Parliament, Mrs. Rajavi announced the third
option. She basically stated her opposition to both war and the policy
of appeasement and offered the third option as democratic change by
Iranian people and their resistance.
