Iran: Ten Sunni missionaries imprisoned by the mullahs' regime PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 20 February 2008
NCRI - Ten Sunni missionaries were arrested and imprisoned in the notorious Gohardasht prison (Rajaishahr), according to the Resistance sources in Iran. Prior to their eventual imprisonment, the 10 Sunni missionaries had been detained by the State Security Forces (SSF) and held for more than 40 days in an undisclosed location.
They are as follows: Rasoul Mavet, Souran Fasehi, Mohammad Khaki, Simand Hosseini, Masoud Javadi, Kaveh Seyedzadeh, Edris Mondaris, Azad Qaderzadeh, Kayvan Khodadadi and Khalid Marofi.

Arrest and torture of followers of other religious persuasions is not new under the mullahs' rule in Iran. Mutilating the Christian leaders in 1994, crackdown on Dervishes in the holy city of Qom and western city of Brojerd in 2005 and 2007 as well as arrest and imprisonment of Ayatollah Seyed Mohammad Boroujerdi in 2006 are just a few examples of inhuman and cruel treatment by medieval regime in Iran.

The Iranian Resistance calls on the UN Secretary General, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the United Nations Special Rapporteur for Freedom of Religion or Belief and all international human rights organizations to condemn the Iranian regime and adopt urgent measures to free the detainees.
