Active ImageNCRI - A patrol helicopter of Iranian regime's State Security Forces (SSF) crashed near Oushan Mountains in the northwestern East Azerbaijan province killing five on board, the state-run IRNA news agency reported Saturday quoting SSF commander in the province.

"A SSF helicopter crashed Friday afternoon in the mountains of Varzaqan town killing five on board," the SSF commander of the East Azerbaijan province, Mohammad Ali Nosrati, told IRNA.

Nosrati stated that the helicopter had been flying on a mission over the city of Varzaqan, but he did not elaborate.

He added that three of those killed in the crash were the helicopter crew and the other two were SSF officials.

The state-run Fars news agency identified the two officials as Mahmoud Jalali, chief of preventive police force and Ali Niazi, head of highway police in East Azerbaijan province.
