Iran: Seven thousand brick factory workers walked out in Orumieh PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 08 June 2008

NCRI - More than 7,000 brick factory workers walked out over their low salaries in the northwestern city of Orumieh on Friday.

Brick factories workers in Zarien Khak, Sarv-Jahan and Khamenei factories have also gone on strike over low salaries.

Managements in these factories have tried in vain to break the workers resolves and force them back to work. However, the workers have vowed to stay on as long as their demands are met.

On June 3, in a similar move, three thousand workers walked out over low pays in Qarchak Brick Factory in Varamin, Tehran's southern suburbs.

The Iranian Resistance calls on labor organizations and unions and the International Labor Organization (ILO) in particular to condemn the anti-labor policies of the clerical regime and suppression of the workers in Iran.
