• Mullahs' thanking and welcoming the Iraqi government for the transfer of PMOI members to Camp Liberty, and the United Nations for helping their expulsion

NCRI - The mullahs' regime on the fourth day of transfer of a number of Ashraf residents to Camp Liberty, unveiled the issue and while welcoming the Iraqi government's action, described it as the "resolve of the Iranian nation" and "the will of the Iraqi government". It also thanked the United Nations for helping to expel PMOI from Iraq.

NCRI - Based on reports received from inside the mullahs’ regime, the terrorist Quds Force and the mullahs’ intelligence ministry, with the assistance of the Government of Iraq, have installed sophisticated eavesdropping devices on 15-meter-tall towers adjacent to Camp Liberty to overhear the residents’ conversations. According to these reports, the eavesdropping devices are installed in a way which would cover the trailers used for the residents’ accommodation.

On the other hand, as pointed out in statement ‘Camp Liberty- No. 4’, powerful espionage cameras have been installed at various points of the camp to monitor all activities inside the camp.

NCRI - Three days after the settlement of a group of Ashraf residents stationed in Camp Liberty, it has become even clearer that contrary to the January 31st statement of UNAMI and the Special Representative of the Secretary-General as well as the shoddy report of a shelter expert on January 30th, the conditions of the camp is far away from international humanitarian standards and little doubt has been left that the relocation of residents to this camp has been a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and international human rights law.

Camp Liberty-No. 4

NCRI - Forty-eight hours into entering Camp Liberty of 397 Ashraf residents, everything shows that at the behest of the Iranian regime, the Iraqi government has turned this camp into a prison and regretfully, UNAMI and Mr. Martin Kobler himself, the Special Representative of Secretary-General, assist in this prison-making by confirming it as a refugee camp.

The spread of police force inside the camp is to such an extent that private life of people is constantly under their surveillance and control and practically no privacy has been recognized for the residents.

"Shelter expert's" lies on Liberty infrastructure ready to host 5500 people exposed

NCRI - The statement of UNAMI on January 31, stated "the infrastructure and facilities at Camp Liberty are in accordance with the international humanitarian standards stipulated in the MoU." A technical report by a shelter expert dated January 30 which served as basis for the UNAMI statement confirmed that "the camp is currently configured to accommodate 5,500 persons." The UNAMI statement pretended that the UNHCR had approved the situation of camp Liberty, but the latter was explicit in its February 1 statement that the new location was "being provisioned" and "the UNHCR has been advising on the technicalities of improving the camp infrastructure."
