Despite attacks by the regime’s suppressive forces, sounds of firecrackers and fireworks have filled the air in Tehran and other cities. People have taken part in the celebrations in large numbers and the regime’s forces are unable to control the crowds. the security cordon at two universities and Tehran squares witnessed sporadic outbreaks of violence.

 NCRI - The second day of the religious ceremonies in Iran turned to scenes of nationwide uprising by Iranian people against the clerical regime on Sunday.

Around 10:30 a.m. local time, tens of thousands of people began to march toward Azadi Square in Tehran. They chanted "Free all political prisoners," "Muharam is the month of blood (ultimate struggle) - Khamenei will be overthrown," and "Down with dictator."

 NCRI - In Tehran University, some 5,000 students have gathered behind the university gate in Quds Street after clashes with suppressive agents. Students brandished money notes at Bassijis and agents of the State Security Force and chant “You are paid mercenaries.”

Courageous uprising by students on the anniversary of the Students Day still continues in various universities despite suppressive mobilization by the religious tyranny ruling Iran.

NCRI - Tehran residents showed their hatred and anger against the regime in its entirety by bringing down pictures of the regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, kicking and walking over them in Shariati Street and tearing them up in Seyed Khandan Street. Their move was welcomed by demonstrators.
