Al-Arabiya television station reported on May 2 that a video clip is being circulated amongst Iraqi people that shows one of the leaders of Nouri al-Maliki’s faction giving out state land to voters in return for their votes in favor of Maliki.
The footage shows Mahmoud al-Hassan, a leader of the State of Law coalition that belongs to Maliki, that those who have taken the offer should be checked in the poll centers to make sure they have held their turn of the bargain. Mahmoud al-Hassan is a judge in Iraq's Supreme Criminal Court.
