Arab information ministers have approved a regional media strategy to combat terrorism, promote moderation and renounce violence, Saudi Arabia's Okaz daily reported Wednesday (May 21st).
The media strategy was approved at the 45th Session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers in Cairo this month.
The strategy, prepared by Saudi Arabia in co-operation with Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, aims to raise the level of security vigilance in the Arab world, refute the claims and ideology of terrorism, accurately present facts and avoid media exaggeration or underestimation.
The strategic plan also seeks to highlight the values of tolerance and moderation.
