Iran: US to resume nuclear talks with Iranian regime

In a bid to reach a deal with the Iranian regime on its nuclear ambitions, the US will begin talks with the mullahs again on Thursday, the AP reports.

The US State Department said that Undersecretary Wendy Sherman will take on negotiations Thursday in Geneva. She will be part of a larger American delegation that includes Deputy Secretary of State William Burns.

The six world powers currently negotiating with Iran failed to reach an agreement by their previous July deadline, thus extended the talks for four more months into November.

Undersecretary Sherman recently attended a hearing before the US Senate where she stated that she and the State Department would not necessarily need congressional approval during the negotiations.
