NCRI – The Iranian regime’s prosecutor in Northwestern Province of Qazvin, warned women employees to comply with the hijab and mandatory veiling by sending a letter to all government agencies and companies threatening the offenders with judicial prosecution.

According to the state-run Damadam website, on August 12, 2017, Sadeghi Niyaraki, prosecutor of Qazvin, said in his letter: “In case a report by the enforcement officials or retentive officers is received and non-compliance with the law is noticed, judicial cases will be pursued to prosecute the offenders.”

The letter reads in part: “Since it is necessary to observe Islamic law and proper legal and religious cover for all, especially administrative staff at work and outside office hours, it has been reported that a small number of women working outside office hours and sometimes during office hours, wear clothes that their use in public violates sharia law and harasses public chastity, and the use of these clothes in accordance with the current regulations of the country is considered an offense. The observance of this issue in the office and surroundings environment during administrative hours and even after the end of administrative time and in the external environment is seriously emphasized.”

This judicial authority demanded all security officers and women employees be informed in order to comply with the provisions of the law.

At the end of his letter, Qazvin prosecutor threatened the offenders with judicial prosecution if the retentive and enforcement officers report violation and non-compliance with the law is noticed.
