EventsA 16-day international exhibition of human rights entitled
"Humanity, 2005" in the historic city of Valmantone, Italy, devoted its
ninth day to the human rights situation in Iran.
A delegation of the Iranian resistance comprised of Ms. Sarvenaz
Chitsaz, chairwoman of the women's committee of the National Council of
Resistance of Iran, Mr. Mohammad Reza Rowhani, chairman of the NCRI
Ethnic Minorities committee and Mr. Reza Olia, renowned artist and
member of the NCRI,
attended the meeting. The Iranian resistance's
delegation described the devastating Human Rights' situation in Iran
under the mullahs' rule.
The exhibition was co-sponsored by Mr. Aldo Foorbiche, an Italian
scholar and social personality, Medicine San Frontier, Amnesty
International-Italy branch, Italy's refugee council, UNICEF and a
number of other human rights organizations and NGOs in Italy.
The Iranian resistance's president-elect, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, sent a
video-taped message to the exhibition pointing out the horrendous
record of suppression in Iran. She said, “Considering this dreadful
record, one cannot categorize the Iranian regime as a violator of human
rights, but as a regime that denies human rights.”
She said: "The problem with Iran's ruling fundamentalism is not just
its violation or non-commitment to humanitarian standards, but the fact
that the Iran's mullahs have no respect for human rights and are
engaged in annihilating it."
A monument symbolizing members of the Iranian Resistance slain by the
Iranian regime was also on display from the first day of the
exhibition, featuring pictures of thousands of the victims. Posters and
pictures of executions, torture, and the massacre of political
prisoners and suppression of PMOI families were put on display in
"Iran's human rights exhibition." |
