In first three hours, polling stations nationwide deserted |

 Iran – election – statement no. 2
Reports from different Iranian cities indicated that in the first three
hours of the voting all polling stations were deserted in most areas.
Eyewitness reports showed that in many polling stations, including
those in Tehran’s Afsarieh, Pirouzi, Sadouqi, Tehran-Pars, Vali-asr,
Ghaem Magham Farahani streets and Hafthoz Square in Narmak, less than
five people had cast their ballots. In the capital, State Security
Forces roam the streets.
In Karaj, west of Tehran, polling stations were deserted and only government agents were present on the scene.
In Kamyaram, many polling stations were deserted as only a few turned
out to vote. In Bonab, in areas that were normally busy, there was no
one to found. In Mashad, northeast Iran, few had cast their ballots by
10:00 am.
In the southeastern city of Zabol, the clerical regime has been
bringing people from surrounding villages to the city to give the
appearance of a large turnout.
