Iranian Resistance urges international community to help save the life of Iranian athlete
Mr. Ebdal Karimi, an official and trainer for Dena Hiking Club, was
arrested on Tuesday, June 21, after Intelligence Ministry agents raided
his house in a suburb of the central Iranian town of Isfahan. He was
taken to an unknown location.
The agents, six plainclothes and armed officers, took away the satellite receiver and computer that belonged to his son.
Mr. Karimi, 48, is a well-known mountain climber who has trained dozens of students groups on hiking across Iran.
His brother, Dariush, who spent ten years in prison, was abducted in
early 1990s by Intelligence Ministry agents and disappeared like dozens
of other victims of the chain murders at the time.
Mr. Karimi had previously been elected as the workers’ representative
at Shemnako brick factory and imprisoned two years for defending the
workers’ rights.
The Iranian Resistance urges all international human rights organs to
help save the life Mr. Karimi and to secure his unconditional release.
