Maryam Rajavi calls on Iranian youths to rise up in solidarity with protesting teachers

Criminal religious dictatorship is source of all problems; overthrow regime to end nation’s overwhelming calamity

NCRI - The Iranian Resistance's President-elect Maryam Rajavi hailed Iranian teachers who have arisen once again all across the country in protest to discrimination, fraud and repression, despite government's massive intimidations and clampdown.

Mrs. Rajavi lauded the teachers' perseverance to gain their rights and called on Iranian youths and college and high school students to join in to spread the protests in solidarity with the country’s teachers.

Teachers’ protests – No. 1

NCRI - Since Thursday morning, May 7, gatherings by noble teachers and education-system employees in protest to the hardships in their lives and that of their families have begun in Tehran and many cities across the country, including Mashhad, Esfahan, Tabriz, Zanjan, Sanandaj, Hamedan, Qazvin, Shahr-e Kord, Sabzevar, Damghan, Shiraz, Sari, Kermanshah, Ahwaz, Babol, Marivan, Ardebil, Qom, Bushehr and Gatvand.

Call on human and women’s rights agencies to secure swift release of Ms. Narges Mohammadi

NCRI- Clerical regime’s intelligence elements raided the home of journalist and human rights activist Ms. Narges Mohammadi on Tuesday, May 5, arresting and transferring her to Evin Prison. Ms. Mohammadi attempted to prevent entry of droves of mercenaries who were there to arrest her, but regime’s intelligence elements threatened her and forcibly took her with them.

Call for ending executions in Iran

According to state-run media, tens of prisoners have been executed, in recent weeks in Iran. Some reports state the number of executions over two weeks (13 April till 26 April), reached 115. But the real number of those executed could in fact be much more than this. One report says that a large number of prisoners have been executed secretly in the city of Arak in recent weeks.

The Iranian dictatorship surrounded by growing political, social and economic crises are worried about the consequences of the nuclear negotiations and have resorted to executions, torture and killings of the Iranian people more than any other time in order to create an atmosphere of fear and repression.

Iran: Political prisoners continue hunger strike in support of imprisoned teachers

NCRI- On Thursday May 7, the hunger strike of political prisoners of Karaj Gohardasht prison in support of imprisoned teachers and workers continued for the forth day. Up to 10 hunger strikers had been on hunger strike protesting the transfer of imprisoned teacher Rasoul Bodaghi to solitary confinement.

They are also protesting the arrest of Ebrahim Madadi and Dawood Razavi, two senior members of the Tehran Transit Bus union, and the arrest of teachers and workers including the Azadegan oil company. They were arrested by the regime's intelligence agents for their protest against mass firings of workers and engineers and replacing them with non-indigenous people.

Iran: Beating, battering, retrial of political prisoner and PMOI supporter Ali Moezzi

By bringing false charges and in a sham trial, henchmen gave him another year in prison although he has finished his prison term

NCRI- Mullahs’ regime judiciary condemned Mr. Ali Moezzi, 65, political prisoner and supporter of People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), to one more year in prison through fabricated allegations. On Monday, May 4, in a sham trial in city of Karaj, this sentence was communicated to Mr. Moezzi who had been forcibly transferred to the sham court.

Monday morning, henchmen summoned Mr. Moezzi to participate in the “court”. He stated in writing that he considers the “court” illegal and illegitimate and would not partake in it. Subsequently, a drove of criminals headed by an IRGC Major battered him. He was hit against the iron bars which caused an injury to his forehead with severe bleeding.
