- Following the meeting between Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the clerical regime’s newly installed Foreign Minister, and his Swedish counterpart, the IRGC News Agency (Fars) and the Terrorist Quds force News Agency (Tasnim) simultaneously announced that the regime’s foreign minister “pointed to the trial of an Iranian citizen in Sweden [Referring to the trial of Hamid Noury, who was involved in the 1988 massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in Iran], stating that the hypocrites [pejorative name used by the regime to describe the main opposition, the Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK)] are behind this plot and conspiracy. He stressed that the court should pay attention to the fact that all the documents and allegations presented in this court were fabricated, which shows the discredited political intentions behind this court process.”
- In the summer of 1988, 30,000 political prisoners, mainly members and supporters of the MEK, were summarily executed for refusing to repent the MEK and its ideals of freedom and democracy for Iran. Shortly after the massacre, the MEK’s leadership initiated a campaign to hold the perpetrators of this heinous crime accountable. In 2019, Hamid Noury, one of the henchmen involved in the massacre in Evin and Gohardasht prisons in Tehran and Karaj, respectively, was arrested while trying to enter Sweden and is now on trial for crimes against humanity.
- It seems that the plan by the regime Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) to sabotage the Justice Movement for the 1988 massacre and the efforts to eliminate the martyrs’ identities and the plot to blame the genocide and massacre on the MEK have all failed. Moreover, the daily gathering of the families of the victims in front of the Swedish court demanding justice, and the international awareness resulting from the activities of the justice movement has exposed the regime and the perpetrators of the massacre. Therefore, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the well-known crony of the eliminated terrorist Quds force commander, Qassem Soleimani, is trying to blackmail the Swedish government to prevent the court’s proceeding.
It is worth mentioning that Iraj Mesdaghi, a notorious MOIS agent currently stationed in Sweden, had complained about the international justice movement, led by Mrs.Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), since 2016.
A month ago, a spokesman for the regime’s Foreign Ministry complained about the trial of Hamid Noury, and blatantly said, “The Swedish government and court should know that the trial has become part of a Mujahedin-e Khalq propaganda machine,” adding, “We will naturally use all our diplomatic means to obtain and enforce Hamid Noury’s rights.”
