NCRI – In protest to their tuition rise and lack of basic requirements, students at the University of Science and Technology staged a sit-in before Majlis (the mullahs’ parliament) earlier this week.

NCRI – Some 100 students staged a sit-in on Monday in front of the Education Ministry in Tehran. The students have been complaining about high tuition fees, low standard of education and worn out equipment among many other things.

Saba TV's managing director said they came to understand that their station was being banned by the government days after Iranian security agents tried to confiscate a tape from a network official at Dubai airport.


Iran: Bus drivers gone on strike in capital

NCRI - Bus drivers in the Iranian capital, Tehran, went on strike today to protest against their wages and conditions of work, as they had warned earlier.

The drivers have been calling for improvement of their working conditions and higher wages to meet with rising inflation but their demands have been refused by the clerical regime.

Today’s strike has brought further chaos to the streets of capital making it even more difficult for commuters to move around in the city.

Yesterday, thousands of people, especially women and youths, in Saqez (Iranian Kurdistan province),  staged a demonstration against the clerical regime's suppressive policies and in solidarity with uprisings in other cities in the province, including Sanandaj, Mahabad, Sardasht, Piranshahr, Marivan, Oshnavieh, Baneh and Divan Darreh.
