Rocket attack on Camp Liberty – statement no. 3

A number of Camp Liberty residents were injured, but fortunately no one was martyred, in the rocket attack on the camp this evening (Monday, July 4).

In this criminal attack, which was carried out by the militias affiliated to the regime's terrorist IRGC Quds Force in Iraq, more than 50 rockets were fired at Camp Liberty, a number of which struck outside the camp perimeter.

The rocket attack took place while in the past eight days Iraqi forces have in an inhuman act prevented the entry of fuel, food and medicine into the camp, and the blockade is continuing.

In the rocket attack carried out against Camp Liberty this evening, some 50 rockets were fired at the camp. As a result of this criminal attack parts of the camp were set ablaze. According to initial reports, a number of rockets struck outside the camp perimeter.

Ban on food, medicine and fuel deliveries to Camp Liberty enters 2nd week

Blocking sewage trucks places camp before major hygiene crisis                                                    

On Sunday, July 3, for the 7th consecutive day the crackdown committee having control over Camp Liberty prevented the entrance of trucks delivering fuel, food stuffs, medicine and hygiene products to the camp as Baghdad remains under 50 degree C heat during the holy month of Ramadan when Liberty residents are fasting. Therefore, the inhumane siege imposed on Liberty enters its second week.

Delivery of fuel, food stuff and medicine to Camp Liberty prevented for the fourth successive day

Thursday, June 30, 2016, for the fourth successive day, the Governmental Committee tasked to suppress Camp Liberty residents has prevented entry of tankers carrying fuel and oil for generators, and trucks carrying food stuffs, hygiene products and medicine to Camp Liberty. They have sent back the tankers and trucks after stopping them for some time. This inhumane measure which has started since June 27th, will rapidly create a crisis in the Camp.

Merchants obstructed from purchasing Camp Liberty residents’ property despite approval by Government of Iraq

Despite the fact that for the second time last week Camp Liberty residents were officially informed that the Government of Iraq has approved the sale of their property in Camp Liberty, seven Iraqi merchants who had come to the camp to purchase the property were turned back on May 19, 2016. The merchants who had braved the difficult security condition in Iraq to come to Camp Liberty were insulted by officers of the Governmental Committee tasked to suppress Camp Liberty residents and were forced to return after a long delay.

Iran regime’s Intel Minister orders Faleh Fayyad to obstruct sale of Camp Liberty residents’ property

Iranian regime’s Minister of Intelligence in Baghdad ordered Faleh Fayyad to obstruct the sale of Camp Liberty residents’ property

According to reports received from Iran, the regime’s Minister of Intelligence Mahmoud Alavi reported to Hassan Rouhani and Ali Khamenei’s Office in Tehran on his trip to Iraq, stressing that he has instructed Iraqi National Security Advisor Faleh Fayyad that the Iranian regime is opposed to the sale of the property of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Camp Liberty and will not allow it.
