Iran: Kurdish political prisoner hanged in Saqqez after 5 years imprisonment

NCRI – Early morning on Monday, November 4, the henchmen of the mullahs’ regime executed Kurdish political prisoner Shirko Moarefi, 33, a resident of the city of Baneh (western Iran) after enduring 5 years of imprisonment and torture in the regime’s medieval dungeons in the city of Saqqez.

The mullahs’ judiciary deprived Shirko of any fair due process and sentenced him to death for “moharebeh” (enmity against God) and supporting the Komalah Organization.

International organization including Amnesty International had called for the halt of this appalling verdict.

The execution of Shirko Moarefi comes only 9 days after the hanging of 18 Kurdish and Balouchi political prisoners in prisons in cities of Zahedan, Urumieh and Salmas on charges of “moharebeh”.

Kurdish political prisoners Habibollah Golparipour, 29, and Reza Ismaeeli (Mamadi), 34, were executed on charges of “moharebe”.

Meanwhile, two other Kurdish political prisoners Zanyar Moradi, 25, and Loghman Moradi, 27, are on the verge of execution in Gohardasht prison.

Iranian Resistance calls on the international community to condemn the executions, urges that Iran’s human rights dossier be referred to the UN Security Council and the leaders of this regime be brought to justice for crimes against humanity.
