Iran: Mullahs’ ridiculous scenario to escape consequences of premeditated attack against political prisoners

NCRI – In a ridiculous attempt to cover up the inhumane crime committed by the Iranian regime in Evin Prison, the head of State Prisons Organization said on Monday, April 21, “Following the dissemination of false information from inside the prison, we investigated the issue and identified the element who was behind it. And we introduced him to the judicial authorities”.

While repeating the false claim that “Prisoners of Evin’s ward 350 met with their families,” Gholam Hossein Ismaili said:”There were no clashes in ward 350 of the Evin Detention Center and it was just a periodic inspection. News of clashes between inmates and our colleagues are not true and these are lies disseminated by the opponents of the state.”

Reports received from inside the Iranian regime indicate that the mullahs are following a preposterous scenario aimed at escaping the consequences of the premeditated attack against the prisoners.

By preparing fabricated and doctored video clips, senior Iranian officials are trying to pretend as if a number of prisoner who have been injured had provoked the attack by breaking windows and insulting the security agents.

According to the scenario, the officials would claim that the prisoners took the measures in cooperation with “foreign media outlets” and “foreign circles”, and in line with the resolution recently adopted by the European Parliament to show that human rights and the rights of prisoners are violated in Iran, and to make human rights an issue to be taken up in the nuclear negotiations.

Reporters Without Borders issued a report on the attack against inmates of Evin’s ward 350 and stipulated, “According to the information obtained by Reporters Without Borders, the operation was prepared and organized by senior officials in the justice system, information department, Revolutionary Guards and Intelligence Ministry, and the presence of representatives from all of these departments during the raid was no coincidence.”

The Iranian Resistance calls on the Secretary-General, High Commissioner for Human Rights and other relevant bodies of the United Nations and all human rights organizations to strongly condemn this criminal attack and the Iranian regime’s efforts to divert attention from the truth, and requested an international and independent fact-finding mission to probe this inhumane crime.
