Iranian Resistance calls to stop execution of 12 inmates

prison

NCRI – The Iranian Resistance calls on all human rights bodies and organs to adopt immediate measures to save the lives of 12 prisoners on the verge of execution and urges consideration of striking prisoners requests in Ghezel Hesar, Orumiyeh and other prisons in various cities in the country.

On Monday, December 1, the regime’s henchmen transferred 12 prisoners to solitary cells in Ghezel Hesar Prison and the women’s prison of Qerchak Varamin in preparation for carrying out their death sentences.

A prisoner by the name of Ahmad Azizi and his wife, together with an Afghan national, are among the prisoners transferred to solitary confinement.

Subsequently, since Monday morning, all prisoners in Ward 2 of Ghezel Hessar Prison went on a hunger strike to protest against group executions and to stop the execution of their fellow inmates.

Just in the last month, four group hangings have been carried out in this prison.

In Ward 2 of this prison there are over 6000 prisoners who are piled up in overbearing conditions. Most of these prisoners are either on the death row or are awaiting death verdicts.
