On Sunday, February 16, 2020, students at Tehran’s Polytechnic (Amir Kabir) University held a protest on the 40th day memorial of the victims of the Ukrainian airliner shot down by IRGC missiles on January 8, 2020.
Students were chanting:
- Neither the ballot box, nor vote, election boycott
- People grapple with poverty, the mullahs think of votes
- IRGC, IRGC, you are our killers
- Be afraid, be afraid, we are all together
- Don’t call me seditionist, you the oppressor are the seditionist
- From Iran to Baghdad, poverty, oppression and despotism
- 1,500 murdered in November
- Mothers are grieving, here is like marshes
- November, January and June bring to mind bloodshed and injustice
- Neither garrison, nor agencies, hail to universities
