NCRI - More than 3,000 sugar cane workers demonstrated outside governor's office in the southwestern city of Shoosh, today.
Workers in this sugar cane factory walked out over their unpaid salaries. They have gone on strike a number of times in the past with no avail since their demands have not been met by the regime's handpicked managers of the factory.
This time however, the workers declared that unless their demands are
met, they will continue with their sit-in outside the governor's
Sporadic clashes were reported between State Security Forces (SSF) and
the angry demonstrators. Nevertheless, workers managed to complete
their walk to the governor's building.
Participants chanted: "Workers in the sugar cane factory are hungry."
Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) and the SSF agents
surrounded the demonstrators at the rally taking pictures and films to
frighten the participants.
The Iranian Resistance calls on all international human rights
organizations and labor unions to condemn the anti-labor laws of the
mullahs' regime and take urgent measures to stop the violent
suppression of the Iranian workers.
