National Council of Resistance of IranNationwide uprising in Iran – Statement 105

Demonstrators march toward Tehran’s Azadi Square chanting “Death to dictator, both Leader and the Doctor”

A large crowd demonstrating in Tehran at about 15:00 on Friday, chanted, “Death to the dictator, both Leader and the Doctor” referring to the regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, a self-proclaimed ‘doctor’. The protestors also chanted, “Political prisoners must be freed,” and “Victory is close, death to the deceitful government” as they marched toward Azadi Square. The suppressive forces are trying to disperse the crowd by attacking them.

A large group of people are also moving toward Jalal Ahmad and Kargar streets chanting, “Political prisoners must be freed,” “Sohrab is not dead, it is the government that is finished” and “We are all one voice, we are all Neda.” Sohrab and Neda are two martyrs of the recent uprising who have turned into national symbols of resistance.
