Missile attack on Camp Liberty – No. 7

50 Falaq-1 240mm missiles of 50 kg Payload were fired at Camp Liberty

Missiles had been placed on launching pads on a flatbed truck by IRGC Industries

According to reports from inside the Iranian regime and the remnants of the fired missiles, fresh details on the July 4 missile attack on Camp Liberty that left 50 residents injured are hence made available:

1. The decision for the missile attack was made by Khamenei in reaction to the transfer process of residents out of Iraq with the aim of inflicting as many casualties as possible on the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). The mission was handed down to the militias by Qasem Soleimani, Commander of the terrorist Qods Force, and his deputy IRGC Brigadier General Eraj Masjedei.

2. The 50 missiles fired were 240mm Falaq-1 manufactured by IRGC Industries. These missiles weigh 111 kg and have a 50 kg Payload. Falaq-1 is a solid fuel two-stage missile with a 10 km range.

3. The launching of missiles initiated at 8:35 pm local time and a number of missiles hit outside Camp Liberty, including al-Iraqiya village.

4. Missiles left holes in Camp Liberty 4 meters wide and 1.5 meters deep.

5. The launching pads for the missiles were arranged in groups of eight and were installed on a flatbed truck by the IRGC Industries and were given to the militias affiliated with the terrorist Qods Force in Iraq.

6. The missiles were launched from Aqarqouf area, five kilometers northwest of Camp Liberty. The militias deployed in Abu Ghoraib or areas in the vicinity of Baghdad Airport facilitated the movement of the flatbed truck to the launch site as it passed through various checkpoints.

7. In this criminal attack large sections of the camp were engulfed by fire and destroyed, including many resident belongings to include 116 containers, mess hall, and other facilities that were either destroyed or rendered useless. Over 1000 evaporative-water-coolers, AC units, AC split units, refrigerators and freezers, washing machines, many types of electric devices, computers, printers and other equipment belonging to residents were destroyed.
