Khamenei’s regime executed at least 12 prisoners on Monday, September 9, and Wednesday, September 11. Among them was 41-year-old Morteza Yousefi, a former national Greco-Roman wrestling champion, who was hanged in Noshahr prison, Mazandaran, after spending 10 years in prison. He held a bachelor’s degree in physical education and was a coach and referee. On the same day, two other prisoners, Sajad Bandegi and Abdolrahman Tajik, were executed in Qezelhessar Prison, and another prisoner, 30-year-old Behnam Bagheri, was hanged in Isfahan. Sajad Bandegi had been on death row for 10 years, while Behnam Bagheri had been sentenced to death five years ago.
On Monday, September 9, in addition to the six prisoners previously announced, two more prisoners, identified as Feyzollah Hosseinpour and 29-year-old Soleiman Ghahremani, were hanged in Miandoab Prison.
The Iranian Resistance once again calls on the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the UN Human Rights Council, the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Iran, the European Union, and its member states to take immediate action to save the lives of prisoners facing execution.
