NCRI-50Call for urgent action to save the lives

of death row prisoners and for an international delegation to visit Iran prisons

On Wednesday and Thursday, January 13 and 14, 2021, the clerical regime hanged six prisoners in Yazd, Qazvin, Zabol, Tabriz, and Urmia. These executions were carried out to intimidate the public and to prevent the escalation of protests.

On Wednesday, January 13, two brothers, Mehdi and Muharram, were hanged in Ardabil Province after spending six years in prison. On the same day, Saber Khoshkar, 27, and Jama Daroo-Zehi were also executed in Tabriz and Zabol, respectively.

On Thursday, January 14, Reza Shirzadeh and Shamsuddin Soleimani were hanged in Yazd and Qazvin prisons, respectively.

Terrified of the enraged public and popular uprisings, and to instill an atmosphere of terror, the criminal clerical regime has increasingly resorted to repression, execution, and torture.

The Iranian Resistance again urges the United Nations and human rights organizations to take urgent action to save the lives of death row prisoners, and to send an international inquiry team to visit Iran prisons and meet with prisoners.
