Iran: At Least 56 Executions in 10 Days

18 Executions in Zahedan, Shiraz, Zanjan, Gohardasht (Karaj)

The Iranian regime hanged eight prisoners in Gohardasht Prison in Karaj on Wednesday, July 15. On the same day, another prisoner was hanged in Bandar Abbas Prison. The inhuman clerical regime has launched a campaign of executions in the face of social uprisings that has not ceased for a moment in the past two weeks.

Two Baluch prisoners, Mohammad Hijavan and Vali Mohammad Rigi (Gango Zehi), were also hanged in Zahedan Prison on Monday, June 13. On Sunday, June 12, five prisoners were hanged by Khamenei’s henchmen in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz. On Saturday, June 11, two prisoners, Touraj Keshavarz and Ali Samandarnejad, were hanged in Zanjan Central Prison.

The clerical regime has executed at least 56 inmates from June 6 to 15, an unprecedented increase compared to previous years and months.

The United Nations and all human rights authorities, as well as the European Union and its member states, must condemn extrajudicial and collective executions and take immediate action to save the lives of thousands of prisoners on death row. Silence in the face of the clerical regime, which is a disgrace for contemporary humanity, is a violation of the values and principles that humanity has sacrificed tens of millions to safeguard.
