Iran: Brutal Attack by Guards at Karaj Central Prison on Prisoners for Not Participating in the Sham Election

Karaj-Central-Prison-min

On Monday morning, March 4, the brutal guards of Karaj Central Prison, acting on the orders of the prison’s warden, Ali Keshavarzian, and in retaliation for the prisoners’ refusal to participate in the sham election, stormed one of the halls of Ward 7 of the prison.

During the attack, the guards destroyed or looted the prisoners’ personal belongings, including mattresses, pillows, spoons, forks, and cups, which they had purchased at their own expense and with much difficulty.

The belongings of political prisoner Mohammad Hosseini, a supporter of the PMOI, were completely destroyed in the brutal attack. The prisoners in this ward, despite all the pressure and propaganda from the prison warden, had refused to participate in the election. Karaj Central Prison is one of the main execution centers for prisoners in Iran.

The Iranian Resistance, while condemning this brutal attack, once again emphasizes the need for an international fact-finding mission to visit Iran’s prisons and meet with the prisoners.
