On Tuesday, November 2, 2021, Khosrow Jamalifar, a 26-year-old prisoner, was brutally beaten on the head and murdered at the behest of the clerical regime by henchmen in Sanandaj Prison. The clerical regime’s judiciary claimed that the prisoner committed suicide, but no evidence or sign of suicide was found. Khosrow Jamalifar was buried in Behesht Mohammadi Cemetery in Sanandaj on Wednesday morning with a heavy presence of security forces, who did not allow Jamalifar’s family to see their son’s body before burial to conceal traces of the crime.

Prison beatings and killings of prisoners are routinely occurring since the appointment of Ebrahim Raisi as regime’s president and Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Eje’i as Judiciary chief. Earlier, Shahin Naseri was murdered in prison in mid-September, and Amir Hossein Hatami, a 22-year-old man, was beaten to death by the clerical regime’s judiciary agents in prison in late September.

Meanwhile, the execution of prisoners continues. On Wednesday morning, November 3, a prisoner was hanged in Gohardasht Prison after serving ten years in prison. On the same day, another prisoner named Manouchehr Kazemi was hanged in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj after six years in prison. At the same time, a prisoner was hanged in Mashhad prison. The day before (Tuesday, November 2), Mohammad Raisi, a 23-year-old Baluchi prisoner, was executed in Shiraz prison. On November 26, the clerical regime hanged Susan Rezaei-Pour in Qazvin Central Prison. She is the fifth woman to be executed since the beginning of the Iranian calendar year on March 21, 2021.

The clerical regime, fearful of another uprising, is desperately exerting suppression, torture, executions, and creating an atmosphere of terror and intimidation. The Iranian resistance once again urges the United Nations, human rights authorities, European governments, and the United States to condemn these criminal executions and to take urgent action to stop them. The continuation and expansion of political and economic relations with this medieval regime must be conditioned to halt executions and torture and tangible improvement of human rights in Iran.
