NCRI – A large group of Iranian prisoners being held in Gohardasht prison in the city of Karaj chanted anti-regime slogans during a protest on Saturday against the installation of high powered cellular phone jamming devices that causes health problems.

Prisoners in Section 4 of Gohardasht prison chanted “Down with dictator”, “Long live freedom” and “Death to the regime of executions.”

The installation of these devices is aimed disrupting communication by political prisoners. The jamming signals which are said to cause cancer has greatly endangered the health of prisoners. Many prisoner suffer from dry mucosa, muscle aches and severe headache, blurred vision, nausea and continuous numbness.

The Iranian resistance calls on international human rights organizations to condemn the repressive and criminal measures by the clerical regime against those held in the Iranian regime’s prisons, particularly against those being held for their political beliefs.
