Khamenei’s executioners begin the month of Khordad with a new wave of executions: 10 prisoners executed on May 24 and 25

As the general public is pushed to the brink and various sectors of society—from bakers and truck drivers to educators and retirees—have risen in protest, Khamenei, in fear of a popular uprising and in an attempt to delay the inevitable downfall of the notorious regime of Velayat-e Faqih, has increasingly resorted to the execution of prisoners, particularly the youth.

While this year’s month of Ordibehesht (April–May) was the bloodiest in recent years, Khamenei’s executioners have commenced the month of Khordad (starting May 22) with an escalation in executions.

On Monday, May 26, Zabihollah Sarani, a 29-year-old Baluch compatriot, was hanged in Zahedan Central Prison.

On Sunday, May 25, five prisoners were hanged:

  • Mohammadreza Beyki Firoozabadi, 31, Mohammadreza Zare’ Mo’ayyedi, and Behbood Barzegari Beygi in Adelabad Prison of Shiraz
  • Alireza Rezaei, 27, and Mobarak Rahmani, 25, in Qom Central Prison

On Saturday, May 24, another five prisoners were executed:

  • Hessam Farhadi, 33, in Boroujerd
  • Vahid Karimizadeh, 35, and Farhad Farahnak, 25, in Qom
  • Homayoun Amjad in Zanjan
  • Tahmasb Jahanian in Nahavand

In addition, on Monday, May 19, a female prisoner, Setareh Taherloo, was executed in Damghan Prison.
