Iraqi agents block gasoline delivery to Iranians in Camp Liberty

NCRI – In continuation of the anti-human logistical siege of Camp Liberty, for the fifth straight week, Iraqi agents prevent the entry of gasoline to the camp.

This is despite the fact that the gasoline bought by residents in the past three years has been used merely for a limited number of public service and passenger vehicles allocated to the commute of patients and injured inside the camp.

Barring entry of gasoline forces the patients and the disabled to walk in cold weather on muddy and gravel roads that is equivalent to torture for them. Preventing entry of gasoline for the limited number of vehicles in the camp is blatant breach of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by Government of Iraq.

During the transfer of residents to Camp Liberty, the Iraqi government forced them to leave over 95% of their vehicles in Ashraf and in the ensuing months most of the vehicles were stolen.

Considering the commitments of the U.S. government and the United Nations concerning the security and wellbeing of Camp Liberty residents, the Iranian Resistance is calling for their immediate intervention to end this tyrannical siege.
